‘Toffee’s not good for you,’ 

      Granny would say

‘You leave it alone now

      And go out to play.’

​

‘It’s bad for you teeth;

      Not good for your hair! -

‘But Granny, I like it.  

     That’s not really fair!’

​

‘It will stick in your throat;

     Wind itself round your heart.

It will coil round your liver

     And that’s just the start.’

​

So the toffee was kept

      Up on Granny’s top shelf.

Now Gran’s lost all her teeth,

     So did she eat it herself?
