Speak nicely to your parents, dear -
And do as you are told.
Remember that you're young, my love,
Whilst both of them are old!
Speak nicely to your parents, dear.
You are their little treasure.
Of course they like to tell you off:
It is their only pleasure.
Speak nicely to your parents, dear -
And when they're cross, just learn.
One day you'll be a parent too
And then you'll have your turn!
