THE RAIN FAIRIES

Rain Fairies (The)

They ride upon the stormy clouds
     That journey on the winds:
Six rain fairies on clouds of white
    With brightly coloured wings.

Thunder roars and lightning strikes;
Then, as the rain comes down,
The rain fairies peep from the clouds
     And gaze upon our town.

They hide behind the rainbow arch
     And shelter from the mist.
High up above our planet earth -
     That’s where they all exist.

We couldn’t do without the rain
      To grow all living things.
It makes our rivers flow along
     And waters flowers in spring.

Thank God for tiny rain fairies
And all the work they do.
You may not see them in the sky
    But they’ll be watching you.
