PAINT A SPRING PICTURE

Trochaic Metre - (DUM di DUM di DUM di DUM di)

By Josie Whitehead

Paint a Spring Picture

Paint away the winter’s drizzle -
That which makes we humans grizzle.
Send the winds and rain off packing.
Ice is thawing – hear it cracking?

Colour trees in pink and white
For blossom makes a pretty sight.
Paint spring flowers in many places
     Bringing joy to human faces.

Paint some golden daffodils
And yellow gorse upon the hills.
     Whilst outside the weather’s freezing,

Spring on paper can be pleasing.
