ONE KIND LITTLE WORD

By Josie Whitehead

One Kind Little Word

When Mum told me off

      And Dad's face seemed cross:

When my big brother grinned

‘Cos he thought he was boss:

When I got to school late,

And Miss Scott told me off,

And when she was talking,

      I started to cough –

And my work was all wrong

     And I felt really bad,

So I sat at my desk

     And I cried and felt sad . . .

BUT

I looked round the room,

And my tears made it blurred . . . .

But my friend smiled at me,

And he said a kind word.

So . . . Then everything changed.

    It was so very absurd

How your day quickly changes

       With one kind little word.

Have you tried saying one kind little word to perhaps more than one person today?  Do it and . . . .  watch their face light up.  Josie
