JOSIE'S POEMS
People Poems
By Josie Whitehead
IDENTITY ACCEPTANCE
By Josie Whitehead
What would you do . . .
If you woke up in the night-time
And popped into the loo,
But glanced into the mirror
And saw a face that wasn’t you?
For the teeth were white and even,
The hair was brown not grey
And all those awful wrinkles
Had completely gone away.
If the double chin had vanished
And laughter lines gone too,
When you saw this beauty
What do you think you’d do?
I’d stay right by that mirror
And I’d never want to leave
In case the beauty in the mirror
Might go, for then I’d grieve.
