ICKLEDY, MICKLEDY -
PICKLEDY TOO

By Josie Whitehead

Ickledy, Mickledy, Pickledy Too

Ickledy, Mickledy, Pickledy too,

Ate and they ate and they grew and they grew.

     They soon became giants, and all very tall -

     And the children they met?  They frightened them all!

Ickledy, Mickledy, Pickledy too,

Lived in a forest!   Perhaps you all knew;

     But friends?  They had none.  They were lonely and shy

     With feet in the forest and heads in the sky.

Ickledy, Mickledy, Pickledy too -

Oh I’m sure that you’ll think that this story’s not true,

     But take my advice and, oh don’t look so glum.

     Don’t gobble your food or a giant you’ll become!
