I'M DOING REALLY FINE
By Josie Whitehead
I'm Doing Really Fine
Daddy’s grown a long brown beard,
And Mummy’s dyed her hair.
Grandma’s had her teeth removed,
But do I really care?
Granddad now has knobbly knees
But dances every night -
But I’ve got youth upon my side.
I’m doing quite all right!
My sister’s on a slimming diet,
But she’s already slim.
My brother knocked his teeth out
When he fell down in the gym.
My friend fell off her bicycle
And badly hurt her spine,
So I think I’m the lucky one
For I’m doing really fine!

Oh dear, dear dear - This boy is only concerned with doing really fine himself, and it seems he has caring thoughts about the others who are NOT doing fine. I hope he actually showed some caring concern for these others and perhaps could do some kindly things to help them and to comfort them. I hope this child isn't you. Josie
