Senses Poems for Children

HOW DO
CHILDREN TASTE?
By Josie Whitehead
How Do Children Taste?
The monster said:

How I wish I could sing like a bird in a tree.
How I wish that I smelt like a rose or sweet pea.
How I wish that I looked like a famous film star.
How I wish that I tasted like a sweet chocolate bar.

How I wish that I felt – well how could a child feel?
Well pinch one and feel one, but expect a loud squeal!
You can hear their loud shouting which can deafen the ear,
But I think they taste uggh, yucky, so you’ve nothing to fear.
