HARVEST THANKSGIVING

By Josie Whitehead

Harvest Thanksgiving

The autumn sun sinks in the sky

 And mother’s made a pumpkin pie.

       The children have returned to school

        And the autumn winds are strong and cool.

The summer’s gone and leaves turn gold;

The days grow short and sometimes cold.

       The wheat is safely stored away

        For making bread another day.

Thank God for all our fruit and flowers;

For warming sun and cooling showers.

     Thank God for all the birds that sing;

      Yes, thank you God for everything.
