JOSIE'S POEMS
Funny Poems for Children
By Josie Whitehead
THE GREEN FOLK
OF BABONGA
By Josie Whitehead
On the Island of Babonga
Everyone is green.
They really are the strangest folk
That you’ll have ever seen.
They dance the hokey-cokey
In the middle of the day,
And never drive around in cars
But slide around on trays.
The children of Babonga
Never go to school,
For staying home and playing,
Yes, that’s their golden rule.
What do they eat for dinner? –
Well I knew you’d ask me that.
Frogs and toads, slugs and snails,
And sometimes pussy cat.
Meeeeeow!

The hokey-cokey: - This is a party dance and song in which people stand in a circle, shke their arms and legs one at a time and move forwards and backwards. It's great fun.
