THE FOX AND THE GRAPES
(Based on an Aesop's Fable)
By Josie Whitehead
A fox, in a vineyard, saw some very fine grapes
Which dangled from high on a bough.
'They may be delicious,' thought Freddy the Fox,
'But to get them? My problem is ‘how’?'

He jumped and he jumped and quite wore himself out
But reach them? Of course he did not -
And all of this jumping caused Freddy the Fox
To begin to feel terribly hot.

He leapt up again and then had to give up
For he’d jumped now for more than an hour,
So, walking away, with his nose in the air
He declared: 'Well, they were probably sour.'
