COLOUR ME RED

By Josie Whitehead

Fresh Strawberries
Colour Me Red

'Colour me red,' said the sweet perfumed rose.
'Make my fragrance appealing to everyone's nose.
       To my gorgeous green leaves just add a sheen.
        I am the loveliest flower that ever was seen.'

The sweet tasting strawberry said: 'Colour me red.
The sun ripens me in my cosy straw bed.
       Compared to some fruits I may be quite small
       But my sweet tasting juices bring pleasure to all.'

'Yes colour me red,' the fire engine exclaims;
'Like the brilliant colours of fire and its flames.
     I roar down the street with my firemen inside
     And my paintwork is red and I wear it with pride.'
