Bee on a Daisy

AS USEFUL AS A SIMILE IS

As Useful as a Simile

As busy as that busy bee
     That's landed on a flower.
As soft as raindrops falling
     From an early morning shower.

​

As black as coal that's burning
     With a crackling, blazing light.
As white as snow that's falling
     From the dark and chilly night.

​

As dull as dishwater that sits
     Inside the kitchen sink.
As tasty as Mum's apple pie
     That's gone within a blink.

​

As bright as summer's sunshine
     That brightens up the day.
As dull as thick clouds overhead
     That paint our world quite grey.

​

As noisy as the treetop is
     With boisterous, chattering birds
And as useful as these similes were
     
Which enhanced this poet's words.
